A silhouette portrait of Dorothea Anna Drury with gold ink highlights. Misidentified by auction house as ‘a Mrs Grey’, she is in fact the daughter of a plantation owner and wife of a well-known assistant-master at Eton. No other portrait of her is known.
Two silver needle cases: one by the master silversmith Dirk Goedhart (monogrammed A.W.) and the other by master silversmith Jan van Millege (bearing the coat of arms of the aristocratic Bosch family of Utrecht with their family motto ‘VIRTUTE ET LABORE’).
